WHEN TO SEARCH FOR A THERAPIST?

It is beneficial for a person to start searching for a therapist when they are experiencing challenges or difficulties that are impacting their daily life, relationships, or overall well-being. This can include symptoms of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, or trauma, as well as significant life changes, relationship issues, or unresolved emotional issues. Additionally, if someone is feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or lacking clarity in their life, seeking therapy can provide valuable support and guidance. It is important to remember that therapy is not limited to crisis situations and can be beneficial for anyone seeking personal growth, self-exploration, or a safe space to discuss their thoughts and emotions. Ultimately, the decision to start searching for a therapist is a personal one, and individuals should trust their intuition and seek professional help when they feel ready and open to the process of therapy.

4 Levels of The Addiction Process

The addiction process can be broken down into four distinct levels:

  • Pre-addiction
  • Intoxication
  • Withdrawal
  • Relapse

The addiction process at Live Life Wellness Clinic can be understood by breaking it down into four levels: 1. Pre-addiction: This refers to the period before someone becomes addicted to a substance or behavior. During this stage, individuals may experiment or “try” the substance or behavior. Factors that contribute to pre-addiction include social and environmental influences, psychological factors such as stress or anxiety, and genetic predisposition. 2. Intoxication: Intoxication occurs when an individual is under the influence of a substance or engages in addictive behavior. They may experience euphoria, altered perception, impaired judgment, and other physical or emotional effects. 3. Withdrawal: The withdrawal stage involves a decrease in substance use and potential physical and psychological symptoms of withdrawal. These symptoms can include intense cravings, fatigue, mood swings, and other specific symptoms that vary based on the substance or behavior. 4. Relapse: Relapse occurs when an individual who had previously stopped using substances or engaging in addictive behavior returns to active addiction. This can be triggered by stress, social cues, or other environmental factors. It is important to understand that not everyone will progress through each stage in the same way. Factors such as genetics and environment can play a role in an individual’s journey through addiction. At Live Life Wellness Clinic, we provide support and personalized treatment plans to help individuals navigate and overcome each stage of the addiction process.
